Identifying Problems & Solutions at the Dog Park

Problems and Solutions for my community Dog Park Project

If I could remodel or revamp something in my community it would be the dog park, because the dog park is not that fun for the dogs and the owners.

A regular day at the park, you will see toys left on the ground. Which makes the dog park look dirty. My solution would be to make a toy bin for dogs to grab toys from and owners to put them back so the park doesn’t look dirty.

When owners go to the park and let their dog off leash they either leave the leash on the ground, hang it on the fence, a tree or place it on the benches. I would have a more organized plan. I would put a pole with hooks on it so the owners can hang their leash on there.

When owners go to the park they might worry about their dog, because he or she could get in a fight with a big or little dog. A solution to this might be to section the dog park in half, so big dogs can play in separate from the small dogs.
Dogs get thirsty while playing for a long time and there is no water at the dog park. Owners have to bring their own water, and bowl to the dog park. My solution would be to have a water fountain for both dogs and owners at the dog park.

The gate latches are not very secure and need to be replaced. I actually saw two dogs running and playing at the dog park one day and they tumbled into the gate and it opened right up. This is not very good for dogs and their safety.

These are the main problems that I identified while being at the park.
